The New Team….As you may be aware The friends of St Michaels recently had their first meeting of this academic year.  Quite a few of the long standing ‘friends’ have now moved on to the Duke’s School, so there are a few new faces on the committee. Let me introduce the team!

Chair: Mary Plumley, Vice Chair: Caroline Hutton-Stott,

Secretary: Janice Ramezanpour, Treasurer: Mandy Davison,

Lucy-Anne Smith, Lisa Lowes, Rachel Oxley, Jane Hardy, Kelly Thompson,

Louise Lewis.

Many hands make light work….

It would be great to have a few more people on the committee, so it can be representative of the whole school. You don’t have to make it to every meeting (there are not that many anyway!), just come and have your say- your idea could be the one that funds a school trip! If you only want to help once in a while, that would be wonderful as well; we’d love to see you!

If you would like to get in touch with us: Leave a message at reception with school, catch us in the playground or email us friendsofstmichaels@hotmail.co.uk

Our Aims….

When asked, most parents expressed a general feeling that they would like fundraising to continue to cover the costs of school trips, so we are making this our primary aim for the coming year. We also want to continue to help improve school resources, such as providing more books for the library.

Anyone interested in helping out, please contact school.

Welcome back after a lovely hot half term week!

As always thank you for your much needed and greatly

appreciated support. St Michaels Got Talent was a huge

success and was great fun, one of the best nights

our ‘outstanding’ school has seen.

So here is our agenda taking us to the summer holidays………

Wacky Wednesday Sports

Wednesday 9th June

Get collecting your child’s sponsorship now, it all goes to your school fund. Only two days to go!

Cake Stalls

As you know, these are well underway again.  Please do keep supporting these, they provide vital funds for the school, enabling funded transport for trips. When your child’s class is on ‘cake making duty’ it would be a great help if a couple of parents could turn up at 2.45 to help set up the stall. If you could do this please fill in the attached form & hand it in to the office.

Raffle Donations!

We have two raffles on the horizon…….

Spanish Bingo (Tues 29th June) – If you have any Spanish related prizes you would like to donate for the raffle and/or bingo prizes it would be wonderful. (Spanish wine, olives, chorizo, fans, olive oil……sombreros….you get the idea !!!)

‘Little Red Riding Hood’ Production (13th–15th July)- Also a good old British raffle is planned for the KS2 performances. (Draw on the last night) So any donations for this would also be most welcome (Chocs, wine, biscuits, gift items…..the usual!)

Please could you hand anything you can spare in to the school office from now until the events.  You never let us down, many thanks in advance.

Helpers

If you can help out at the Wacky Wednesday Sports (this Wednesday), The School Sports Afternoon (Tues 6th July) with refreshments, Spanish Bingo

(Tues 29th June), or ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ (13th-15th July) with refreshments, tuck shop, raffle & bingo ticket selling, setting up & clearing up, please could you fill out the attached form.

Parents Social Evening

We are hoping to organise a parent’s social evening, possibly this term.  We were thinking of a pub quiz, with food provided and a disco afterwards.  This would be at a local venue such as The Working Men’s Club or The Rugby Club.  What do you think? Would you come? Do you fancy getting a team together to test your general / useless information knowledge? Tickets would be approx £8-10.

Let us know on the form below please & we’ll get on and organise is if that’s what you want!
