Info For Parents
Annual Parents/Carers Curriculum evening – TUESDAY 6th & WEDNESDAY 7TH JULY - with a glass of wine and nibbles to toast our successful year with Ofsted & Church Inspections.
As the end of term quickly approaches, I write with further information of our Parents/Carers Curriculum evening next week.
There are two separate meetings for
A) Early Years (Nursery & Reception) and
B) Key Stage 1 (Years 1 & 2) and Key Stage 2 (Years 3 & 4).
This is not a meeting for children, however a Creche will be provided.
I do appreciate this means that some of you will be coming to 2 meetings. Just stay on and have another glass of wine with us!
We have changed the format because of limited attendance last year and feel that the information shared was too general and not specific to your particular child.
What will you find out?
- The school structure (how many classes, names and age-group mixes) for 2010-2011.
- The class your child will be in for 2010-2011 (new class info and a summary of info shared at the appropriate meeting will come home on Thursday evening if you cannot attend)
- The staff leading each class – a chance to chat & meet the staff and see your child’s new classroom. Any individual concerns can be shared with staff.
- General information for the new year ahead.
- New School meal system for September
- Communication with school – Parent mail/text & email systems
- Last minute uniform orders
Tuesday 6th July 5.30:- Early Years (If your children are to start or continue in Nursery and if your children are starting school full time in Reception in September). For parents/carers of children now in Hedgehogs, Squirrels & new Nursery starters.
Wednesday 7th July 7:00:- Key Stage 1 (If your children are moving into Year 1 or 2 in September). For parents/carers of children now in Reception Foxes & Badgers, all children now in Year 1.
And for parents of children moving into Key Stage 2 (If your children are moving into Year 3 or 4 in September) For parents/carers of children now in Year 2 – Owls, Year 3 children now in Rhinos, Tigers & Pandas.

During periods of sever weather conditions there may be school closures or disruption to your child’s home to school transport.
1 The school’s website will post any school closures {www.stmichaelcofeschool.co.uk} please check.
2. Listen to the Local Radio Stations – Radio Newcastle 95.4fm and Metro Radio 97.1fm.
3. Parents/ carers of bus/taxi children will need to be aware that your child may be sent home early if the transport section need to do so, { we telephone those parents before we send them on the transport}.
4. Please make sure school has all your up to date mobile/ telephone numbers.
