Diary Dates

Dear Parents, Carers & Governors,

And so we begin the last half term of this academic year.

It is great to be back at school and what an exciting end to the year we have planned.

Please find below some diary dates for your information. we look forward to seeing you in and around school over the next few weeks.

Tuesday 15th June – After school Club continues until 13th July.

  • Thursday 17th June – Church Mice until 15th July.
  • Monday 21st June – Church School Inspection Day (SIAS) Reverend Cannon Sheila Bamber joins us as our Inspector for the day.
  • Tuesday 29th June – Spanish Day – letter to follow.
  • Tuesday 29th June – Spanish Bingo – 6:30 – posters to follow.
  • Saturday 3rd July – School football tch and go to the Dukes school in the afternoon to take parts in a fun Sports day.

    Tues 6th July          St Michael’s Sports afternoon.  Come and join us for a traditional Sports afternoon at 1.30pm on the field.

    Thurs 8th July        Transition Day.  All children will go to their new classes and meet their new teachers.  Year 4s will be taken to the Dukes School for the day and picked up by St Michael’s staff.

    Key Stage 2 Performance – Little Red Riding Hood.  More details to follow but dates for your diaries are:

    Tues 13th July        9.30am performance

    Wed 14th July        6.30pm performance

    Thurs 15th July       6.30pm performance.

    ALL children in Key Stage 2 will be taking part in our end of year production and we expect all to be present for all performances.  Further information about tickets will be given closer to the time.

    Tues 20th July        Year 4 beach party.  See separate letter (beach wear and packed lunch essential!)  We hope for sun!

    Wed 21st July        Leavers’ Service in Church in the afternoon followed by leavers’ tea back at school

    Fri 23rd July          Break up for summer holidays for a well deserved rest.      If you have any questions about any of the above dates and events please let us know.

Key Stage Two dates

Wed 16th June        Year 4 leavers’ service at Newcastle Cathedral + treat

Thurs 24th June      Kwick Cricket festival at Alnwick Cricket Club (all year 3/4 packed lunch required)

Mon 28th June        Dukes Staff to visit our children here at St Michael’s

Tues 29th June       Spanish Day and Spanish Bingo – see separate letter

Wed 30th June       Hopes and Fears Evening.  A chance for all Year 4 parents to come to St Michael’s in the evening and meet the Year 5 staff from the Dukes alongside our own Key Stage 2 team and discuss hopes and fears for their children moving on.  Come and join us for drinks and snacks.

Thurs 1st July         Dukes music day for Year 4 children.  Children will be working on a musical production which they will perform at 3pm. (packed lunch needed)

Mon 5th July          Year 4 bring a packed lunch and go to the Dukes school in the afternoon to take parts in a fun Sports day.
